EUSA Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik together with Communications and

Projects Manager Mr Andrej Pisl visited Madrid on November 7 and 8, in preparations

for the 2018 General Assembly of the European University Sports Association, which

will be held there April 12-15 next year.
On behalf of the hosts they were welcomed by Mr Aitor Canibe Sanchez and Jose Luis

Lesma from the Camilo Jose Cela University. At the meeting also other

representatives from the Organising Committee were present.



Participants discussed organisational and practical matters related to the organisation

of the event. The Assembly will also include presentation of the upcoming European

Universities Games, as well as the EUSA Gala, and the FISU-EUSA Strategic

Dialogue. The official announcement and invitation will be published in December.



The visit was also an opportunity to meet with Mr Juan Pablo Cerezo Mata,

representative of the Spanish University Sport Committee (CEDU), which is supporting

the organisation of the 2018 EUSA General Assembly.
EUSA representatives also attended the launch of the new season of academic

programmes at the Camilo Jose Cela University, dedicated to high-performance

athletes and the topic of dual career.
